It’s home to an excellent beach with it’s famous colourful beach huts and a 19th Century style pier with cafes and some of the quirkiest arcade machines you’ll ever see. Southwold also boasts many excellent independent shops, art galleries, pubs and a working lighthouse. And don’t forget to visit the Adnams shop and restaurant where you can stock up on beer from the famous local brewery.

The great outdoors

And if you’re a keen ornithologist you’ll have to make time to visit the RSPB’s Minsmere nature reserve, visit NT Dunwich Heath, or discover bird life and bug life at Suffolk Wildlife Trusts Carlton Marshes.
If you enjoy walking, why not try the Suffolk Coast Path, and the many local walks and footpaths. The peaceful quiet country lanes are perfect for exploring by bicycle.
